- I've owned two USR 28.8 Sportsters, and both were a pain. The major
- problem was unexplained, frequent disconnects. I considered that a
- moderate problem. USR tech/customer support was insulting and essentially
- non-existent. I considered that a *major* problem. I won't waste my time
- trying to find stronger or more eloquent words to describe their poor
- support.
-
- The third modem I purchased was a Supra 28.8 fax/modem. All I did was
- unplug the USR and plug in the Supra. Without making any other changes to
- my system or phone lines, etc,the Supra has worked flawlessly for the last
- six months since I took it out of its box. It is such a pleasure to have a
- peripheral in my system that I forget is even there. With the USRs, I was
- always aware of their presence; they were always causing problems.
-
- I'm sure you will find many happy USR customers. But if you buy one, and
- it works, great. If you buy one and have trouble, you will be on your own.
